On 17 February, scientists from the D-BSSE, the Biozentrum and the Pharmazentrum of the University of Basel were gathering for the Symposium “Science Next Door” to foster interdisciplinary connections between life-science institutions on Campus Schällemätteli.

Over 100 PhD students, PostDocs, scientific-technical staff, and Principal Investigators attended, reflecting the vibrant and diverse research community across these departments.\
\
The Symposium featured two poster sessions, which allowed attendees to engage in discussions and network across disciplines. A great platform for discussions also was the ‘Where are you from?’ map near the entrance, illustrating the representation of the scientific community on the campus from every continent except Antarctica.

## Science Next Door

Big thanks to all the participants in the event, and the organisers from the Biozentrum Postdoc Society (BPS), the PhD Students Biozentrum, the Scientific Staff Association of D-BSSE (VMB) and the PhD Students Pharmaceutical Sciences.
