# Collaboration in Oceania

Lund University has extensive research and education collaborations with universities in Australia and New Zealand, including through its membership in the Universitas 21 network.

Global Dynamic Engagement (GDE) is Lund University's approach to enhance our international impact in research, education, innovation and cooperation. In this work, democracy, human rights, academic freedom, and accountability are core values.

Through GDE, we aim to strengthen and develop our collaborations in Oceania. Our priority activities are outlined in an annual roadmap.

## Exchange agreements

Our students have a strong interest in exchange studies in Australia and New Zealand. Lund University has a total of 31 student exchange agreements in Australia and 5 in New Zealand, including both university-wide and faculty-level partnerships.

## Network activities

### Universitas 21 (U21)

U21 is a leading global network of research-intensive universities for collaboration in both education and research.

U21 has five members in Oceania:

- University of Melbourne, Australia
- University of New South Wales Sydney, Australia
- University of Queensland, Australia
- University of Sydney, Australia
- University of Auckland, New Zealand

## Research collaboration

Australia is Lund University's 12th largest co-publishing partner worldwide. New Zealand ranks 30th.

In Australia, most co-publications are with:

- UNSW Sydney (U21)
- University of Melbourne (U21)
- University of Sydney (U21)
- University of Queensland (U21)
- Monash University
- Australian National University.

In New Zealand, most co-publications are with:

- University of Canterbury
- University of Otago
- University of Auckland (U21)
- Victoria University Wellington.
