Projects are available in Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology, Computer Science & Technology, Mechanics, Materials & Design Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Open to all students in the penultimate year of their course who meet the essential and widening participation criteria.
During the 8 week placement you will:
- Receive payment equivalent to the real living wage
- Stay in college accommodation to experience student life at Cambridge
- Be part of a research group to experience real postgraduate study
- Undertake training to help you prepare for applying for postgraduate courses
Placements will start on Monday 6th July 2026, ending Friday 28th August 2026.

Graduate roles in the Prime19 team involve extremely varied work which can entail: - The opportunity to work on a wide range of coding languages such as Python, R, SAS, SQL, JavaScript,
CSS, HTML, Matlab and VBA - The development of our own product sets using frameworks such as Django, Bootstrap, and React including work such as:
o Model development and data analytics supporting our product sets
o Support for the design of commercial proposals pertaining to our products
o Meeting with potential clients regarding the products we develop
o Front/back-end website and mobile application development - Working as part of our teams on high-end consulting projects for financial institutions and wider businesses with a core focus on the following type of work:
o Financial modelling
o Risk management
o Business analytics
o Data solutions
o Process automation
o Regulatory advisory - Requirements:
We are looking for recent graduates to join our Prime19 team who bring the following traits: - Very strong academic credentials with a grounding in software development and/or
quantitative/analytical techniques - An ability to apply academic techniques and learnings in real-life settings to develop product ideas or
to support clients in the enhancement of their businesses - Having a strong desire to use quantitative and analytical tools to enable the delivery of unique impacts for both our clients and Prime19 in terms of our future product offerings
- An inquisitive mind-set with ambitions to solve problems and identify unique solutions quicker and more accurately than other companies are capable of doing
- Enjoy learning new skills and challenging themselves to take on tasks which they have not experienced previously

Every year, the autonomous team competes in Formula Student’s Artificial Intelligence competition at Silverstone International Circuit in the UK. Throughout the year, we design an autonomous racing system for a formula-style car and race it against other universities from around the world! Whether you want to improve your engineering, programming or management skills, joining the team will allow you to make amazing friends and learn what it takes to build a race car!
