Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up for orientation?

All incoming students will be contacted via email with details of upcoming orientation meetings. The School of Chemistry will contact you via the address that you provide on your Study Abroad/Erasmus application form. Please make sure that you regularly check this email account upon arrival in Dublin.

Can I take any module within the School of Chemistry?

The majority of visiting students take modules from our Junior Sophister (third year) programme in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry with Molecular Modelling or Nanoscience, Physics and Chemistry of Advanced Materials. Details of these modules are available here.

Please note that you must contact the School’s Visiting Student Co-ordinator before you can register for a module.

Can I register for courses in other schools?

The School of Chemistry can only register you for modules taught by the School of Chemistry. You will need to contact the appropriate School in order to sign up for modules outside of chemistry. Any questions about studying in another Schools should be addressed to appropriate co-ordinator.

When will timetables become available?

Finalised timetables will become available in September. You will be given a copy of the School of Chemistry timetable during the School’s visiting student orientation session.
