# International Students

The School of Chemistry has an active international exchange program and each year attracts a number of high calibre international students from both within and outside of Europe.

NOTICE: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, it is unlikely that the School of Chemistry will be able to offer research projects to visiting undergraduates students from September-December of the 2021/22 academic year. The School will be reviewing the situation for Semester 2 in due course. Please keep checking this webpage for further updates.

## Module Registration

module registration is explained  on the Academic Registry’s [webpage](https://www.tcd.ie/academicregistry/trinity-pathways/student/online_module_enrolment.php).

- Visiting students must make sure that the modules you wish to register for are accepted by your home institution.
- Students contact the School’s Visiting Student Coordinator and confirm their intention to register for each chemistry module well in advance of registering at Trinity. Only students who have already been accepted by the School can be registered for chemistry modules. Please do not try and sign up for a module if we have not already agreed to accept you as a student.
- Modules outside of the School of Chemistry must be authorised by the relevant Visiting Student Co-ordinator in each School..

Once you have completed your module registration form, and submitted the authorised copy to Academic Registry, you will be able to access your personalised module timetable through your Trinity online portal.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How do I sign up for orientation?

All incoming students will be contacted via email with details of upcoming orientation meetings. The School of Chemistry will contact you via the address that you provide on your Study Abroad/Erasmus application form. Please make sure that you regularly check this email account upon arrival in Dublin.

### Can I take any module within the School of Chemistry?

The majority of visiting students take modules from our Junior Sophister (third year) programme in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry with Molecular Modelling or Nanoscience, Physics and Chemistry of Advanced Materials. Please note that you must contact the School’s Visiting Student Co-ordinator before you can register for a module.

All modules are dependent on the availability of places on individual courses and your background in the subject. The School’s Visiting Student Co-ordinator can meet you individually upon request and advise you on the requirements for each module.

### Can I register for courses in other schools?

The School of Chemistry can only register you for modules taught by the School of Chemistry. You will need to contact the appropriate School in order to sign up for modules outside of chemistry. Any questions about studying in another Schools should be addressed to appropriate co-ordinator.

### When will timetables become available?

Finalised timetables will become available in September. You will be given a copy of the School of Chemistry timetable during the School’s visiting student orientation session. Once you have completed registration, you will be able to access your personalised timetable through your TCD portal. Please make sure that you only refer to your online timetable once you have registered for you modules successfully.

### How do I get my transcripts after I leave Trinity College?

A Transcript of Results is sent by Trinity’s [Academic Registry](https://www.tcd.ie/academicregistry/contact/) to your home university.
