## Apply for an undergraduate honours course
Honours is a great way to specialise in your area of interest and develop research skills.
Find out whether you're eligible, and when and how to apply.
### Application dates for honours
Applications for Autumn 2026 intake have closed.
Applications for Spring 2026 intake are open and will close on **28 June 2026**.
### Why study an honours course?
Honours courses allow you to gain a deeper understanding and expertise in your chosen field, developing your research and communication skills.
They can be an edge in the job market or a stepping stone to further research degrees, such as a masters.
### Who can study an honours course?
To study an honours course, you generally need to have completed a bachelor degree by the time your honours course commences.
### What should I do before applying for an honours course?
The admissions requirements for honours differ by course.
Depending on your course, you may need to:
- decide on a research topic, either from those offered by your faculty or according to your own interests
- confirm a supervisor within your faculty is willing to oversee your research.
You should check the admissions requirements of your course with your faculty before applying.
