The Office for Graduate Educator Advancement and Teaching (GREAT) empowers graduate students and postdocs, with evidence-based teaching and learning practices, to meaningfully support educator professional development and holistic well-being.

GREAT prepares graduate students and postdoc educators to thrive on a variety of career paths including higher education, public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and to become transformative leaders who contribute meaningfully in local and global communities.

Goals:

  1. Provide programs, workshops, Lunch & Learns, resources, and consultations that support the application of effective, evidence-based teaching and assessment practices.
  2. Foster caring conversations about equitable and inclusive pedagogy across disciplines provide exceptional educational experiences to a diverse student population.
  3. Collaborate with units across campus to advocate for graduate students’ and postdocs’ teaching, learning, scholarship, and wellbeing.
  4. Cultivate and nurture community through social gatherings, celebrations, and meaningful connections across disciplines.\
